It is always tricky to pick a restaurant in china town because you have so many options and you don't know which one is a gem and which is just about OK!
I can proudly say I have tried most of them on several occasions (They might not be the most authentic Chinese but solves the purpose when you are craving for some soup noodles). Last Monday I was out for a Yelp UYE and after a few drinks I had a sudden craving for food and especially Chinese food! I couldn't help myself from getting magnetically drawn into Chinatown on my walk back home. It was post midnight on a Monday so not many places were open but Great Wall which is right in the heart of Chinatown was shining bright (I mean the lights were on) and seemed likely to serve some food to a drunken girl craving for Chinese!
The menu had quite a bit to choose from, lots of options on soups, curries, starters. I went for some steamed dumplings along with hot and spicy chicken soup (you can never go wrong with these) and rice with a regular Chinese curry. The waitress seemed to be rather friendly and welcoming even at that point of the night (impressive). The food appeared in front of me within less than 5 minutes of ordering (nothing makes a hungry woman more happy than that).
The price is very very reasonable because for all that order we just paid 17 pounds (very pocket friendly just like their staff). The decor is not posh but it is not like a take away either (Good for a casual meal out).
Verdict: Any place that serves decent food post midnight with a smile on their face is always worth a 4 star! -

Arrived at the Great Wall with my mum at about 5pm after already planning to eat here because we'd read great reviews. We were slightly worried when we entered as the restaurant was practically empty but we gathered it was probably because it was early, we would of preferred to visit later but we was watching a show at the theatre and didn't want to eat too late after it finished.
We ordered crispy duck to share for starter and then for main we got chicken with sweet and sour sauce, chicken with black bean sauce, egg fried rice and salt and pepper chips and shared it all between us. It was all absolutely amazing, probably one of the best Chinese dinners I've ever had, with lovely flavours and big portions! Will definitely return however we will visit slightly later in the evening next time. -

Good choice for Chinese food. Very yummy food. Beef noodles are very tender and char siu, vegetables was soft and estimated it to be worse. Roasted duck was crispy and recommend to try it. Going to try it again if coming to Manchester again.

First time in China Town for about 6/7 years so was unsure where to go for nice chinese food.
We decided on Great Wall and it didn't fail to meet expectations.
The food was nice, the staff where friendly (although dont seem to have a sense of humour), the restaurant was nice also.
Only thing that miffed me was the automatic expectation of service charge on the bill. Usually i prefer to decide what tip I want to leave. -

Right in the heart of Chinatown you'll find the Great Wall. No, not THAT Great Wall! That'd be rather difficult to fit in a restaurant wouldn't it. Well, it's always difficult narrowing down the choices in Chinatown but I can at least tell you that Great Wall is indeed a good egg. It's one of those places that if you find you like it, you just might have to keep coming back. It's THAT reliable. Perhaps not hugely exciting, but very reliable.
It's a bit of an inbetweener when it comes to the decor, as it's neither a plush over the top ornate Chinese restaurant, nor is it a student dive. The choice available is huge, very extensive and with a ton of options for fish lovers and veggies - hello myself! Okay, so it's not the most authentic option in the area but it's always tasty, and nicely inexpensive too, with rather swish service. Not to be sniffed at.
